The Nevada Department of Agriculture will conduct a Pesticide Waste Collection Event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, at Star Nursery, 8725 Eastern Ave, Las Vegas.
Proper disposal of pesticides and pesticide containers is essential in protecting surface water and groundwater from pollution. This event will provide homeowners, agriculturalists, landscapers and other pesticide users an opportunity to dispose safely of pesticide waste, free of charge.
Acceptable products include insecticides, fungicides, herbicides, rodent baits and other pesticides. The following items will not be accepted: batteries, motor oil, antifreeze, degreasers, pesticide rinsate and fertilizers or nutrients that do not contain pesticide active ingredients.
