Join us Saturday for a festival of Star Wars-themed activities and a special showing of "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story!"
The free event, part of the City's 2017 Twilight Blockbusters series, will be from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19 at The Amp at Craig Ranch Regional Park, 628 W. Craig Road, North Las Vegas.
The first 500 children, age 16 and under, will have a chance to hone their Jedi skills by participating in a free Jedi training session presented by the Light Saber Guild. After passing a series of Jedi training trials, each participant will receive his or her own Jedi equipment to continue practicing!
UNLV’s Society for Lightsaber Duelists will showcase their skills in a duel, and members of the 501st Legion: Vader's Fist will be onsite for photos.
Come dressed for the occasion as there will be costume contests for children, adults and pets. Awards will be given in each division for the most creative costume and the best overall costume. There also will be free bounce houses and other family activities.
The event will culminate at dusk (about 7:30 p.m.) with the showing of the recently-released “Rogue One” movie. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
