City of North Las Vegas calendar of events -- September 2021

The City of North Las Vegas offers free community events and classes at parks, libraries and facilities throughout the city. Events taking place during the month of September include:  

COVID-19 Testing

  • 12 - 6 p.m. Monday – Friday at Alexander Library, 1755 W. Alexander Road, North Las Vegas
  • 2 – 5 p.m. Monday – Friday at Aliante Library, 2400 W. Deer Springs Way, North Las Vegas
  • Free, walk-ins welcome, appointments available

Free COVID-19 testing is available at the Alexander and Aliante libraries, in the parking lots. Walk-ins are welcome and appointments are available. To make an appointment at the Alexander Library, go to

Test results are generally available in 24-48 hours, although it can take longer if a high number of tests are received. Reading Together Family Storytime

BYU Athletics will host its first FanFest since 2019 after all fan events were canceled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Fans will have the opportunity to take pictures with Cosmo and the BYU Cheer Squad. There will also be face painting, balloon artists, inflatables and food trucks. NLVPD Citizen's Academy

  • Free and open to the public (requires the completion of an application)

The Citizens' Academy is a 10 week program designed to provide North Las Vegas residents, in an academy setting, firsthand information about how their Police Department works.

NLV Expressions Virtual Book Club

Craig Ranch Campout

The Craig Ranch Campout returns with a special showing of "Jumanji!" Bring your tent and sleeping bag for an overnight campout at The Amp, full of family fun and entertainment under the stars! Children of all ages with a parent/ guardian are welcome, as are groups and organizations with proper adult supervision. Registration for the event is $2 per person and includes dinner, snacks and breakfast, along with all activities. Space is limited. Firearm Safety & Awareness Event

The North Las Vegas Police Department is hosting a special firearm safety event for both parents and kids, covering safely storing and handling firearms, CCW permits for individuals and church protectors and much more. Halfway to St. Patty's Day

Halfway to St. Paddy’s Day Vegas is a two-day festival, which will feature Police and Fire Emerald Society pipe and drum bands from all over the country. Concert in the Park for Downs Syndrome

Grab your blankets, lawn chairs, and sunscreen and join the Down Syndrome Organization of Southern Nevada (DSOSN) for its first-ever "I've Got the Music In Me" Concert in the Park – a day filled with music, family, friends and fun. Enjoy food trucks and quality time with family and friends while listening to music from Las Vegas artists and bands. Celebrate with community partners, donors, volunteers, friends and family of DSOSN who help support the Las Vegas Down syndrome community and the DSOSN members. Safe Sleep Class
